Social Media and Our Own Values

The television, computer, cell phone and advertising media has changed the belief system for some Americans.  There are schools across the world teaching computer technology (with social media examples) over religion, cultural differences and unity among all.  Additionally, people are more exposed to the harshness of reality and mimicking what they see.  How do people see more violence, hatred, body shaming, drug abuse/overdoses, money glorification and sexual immorality?  Mostly through the media!

The stories about Serena Williams and Les Moonves (CBS former CEO and Executive) have taken  over the social media scene this past weekend.  They have crossed all different topics such as race relations, sports, history, women's rights, violence, sexuality, embarrassment, LOVE, RESPECT, honesty, fear, acknowledgment, trust, lies, misconduct, power abuse, working class, sexual aggression, family, mother/daughter relations, child rearing, disrespect, fame, adultery and so many more.  How do we explain what's going on in the media to our children?  Do we have a logical, non bias attitude to make any statement?

The values in media, especially today, have changed the values of people.  Everyone, near and far, have had their value system strengthened for the better or worse.  Children are still being born, teenagers are still growing into themselves, college students are our future!  What are we showing our children?  As individuals we need to review our own value system.  Teach by example, with actions more than just words.  Teachers cannot be the only ones giving our children their values.  Parents and the community need to reinforce the true value system.  Why?  Because most schools do not teach religion.  It is a sad thing when a child cannot learn about the love of God and His works in our life.  NOW, more than ever before, we need help from a Higher Power.  Look around, hold your loved ones close and respect one another despite differences.

                                        Peace & Love

****Extra Note*****
Cardi B and Nicki had an altercation of some sort at a fashion show this past weekend as well.  Both women are very talented rap artists.  Beautiful ladies who walked the red carpet in gorgeous designer dresses.  Yet, the altercation made them look UGLY!  The incident has been blasted all over the media for our youth to see.  As a result, how is any of it justified to our young girls?

We give to much attention to media instead of just living, being, enjoying, and experiencing. We don't truly grow and interact. We just observe, commentate, desensitize, and form opinions.

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?                                                 The world today is different compared to just a year ago.   Everyone seems to be touchy and sensitive about everything.   Some people are marching just to be marching with their friends, not knowing the true cause. If a celebrity is doing it, he/she is more likely, going to have a following.   The fame, notoriety and wealth status has led to the election of our most recent president.   Realistically, hos moral character was not a factor relating to his election!   The more fame he gained from his political fight came from the misconception about his many business ventures.   Highlighting the word misconception because majority of pe...

Childless Rain

There is nothing like the sound of a tear-filled rain Every single drop causes more and more pain My heart is weighed heavy on my soul No one will ever know how that conversation took its toll The sun never shined the way it did that day One more trip to the doctor To hear what she had to say Oh my God She didn't She said it Just like that What was I to do Or cry with Now that I'm alone I hear nothing Dead silence Except for the rain There is nothing like the sound of a tear-filled rain Every single drop causes more and more pain My heart is weighed heavy on my soul No one will ever know how that conversation took its toll I tried to open my eyes But only see a dark image of me The rain was running down the window With every drop My heart sank I knew it would be over Dreams of a family Stay strong they say Oh really Says the mother of three Her trails and tribulations No way that was me Our stories are not the same Don't try to make ...
