Discretion Needed

WOW! Where do I start?  The health crisis that has pledged our world, the racism that occurs at every corner, the brutality on black on black crime, the injustice in the justice system, the leader who can't lead appropriately, the disable drug in the ground by the ones who are to care for them.  I'll ask you again, where do I begin?  You can't blame it on one class, one race, one gender, one country, one place.  Just think about  how much a child would understand any disgrace.          Our children are stepping over trash, previous walking grounds of prostitutes and blood spattered paths.  Just to get a snack from the local store surrounded by future family members wearing a specific color.  Or growing up with the life of privilege and still wanting more.  The sudden rush of the smooth white powder fills your brain until it consumes your soul.  Then, nothing matters but what...

What is Transverse Myelitis?

This is a rare condition doctors are still researching.  Dealing with Transverse Myelitis since 2007 has affect my life a great deal.  Many tests, hospital stays, medications, prosthetics and more, the condition remains with you for life.  The disappointing thing is that we STILL do not have a reason as to why this affects so many people with no possible cure in sight.  Present day, babies are now waking up unable to walk with no explanation.  It's ridiculous and we need more research done!            A small background of my story goes as follows:  Prior to 2007, I had steroid injections every three months to help with my lower back pain.  The injections helped tremendously until one faithful day in the summer of 2007.  I woke up one morning to use the bathroom and fell out of bed.  I could not feel anything from the waist down except pins and stabbing like needles.  Th...

Can You Protect Our Students This School Year

This year's Student Code of Conduct includes new rules ads adjustments from the previous year.  The focus is on positive interactions, a certain expectation for behaviors, new consequences and respect for others.  The revised 2018-2019 Student Code of Conduct has a student bill of rights also including furthers details.  Each city and cities within cities have a Board of Education ran by members.  These members have a Superintendent for the School's Community District.  As a concerned woman with many children she's cared for, helped birth, helped raise, disciplined, and more; I have seen some awful things with our youth at and/or related to schools. The School Board is doing the best they can. Our youth need help from everyone!  We can't allow the things that are happening now, continue to happen.  There are a few questions people had when I was discussing this topic.            There...

The Money Goal

Wondering why we have homelessness, drug addictions, sexual abuse, incarcerations, hunger and violence in our world today?  Look around!  It's on the news, social media outlets, on every corner, played on the radio, in our schools, on our televisions and everywhere we turn.  The youth today have role models from the strip clubs, gangs, the music industries and prisons.  Very few seek positive role models from educators, doctors, lawyers, researchers, etc..  Why is this?  The negative is being glorified more than any other entity.  People are fighting EVERYWHERE: from the government to the corner store.  The hatred and disrespect amongst cultures, races, genders, government officials and religions has become outrageous.  We are fighting each other instead of helping one another.  It's like the wild, wild west in our world.  The manipulation, jealousy, lies and disregard for human decency has taken...

Our Youth's Education is at Risk!

There was a woman (race not important for this) on television the other day.  She was being interviewed by a female reporter.  Forgive me, I can't recall the station nor the show because the content grabbed my attention instantly!  The middle-aged woman was crying to the reporter.  The woman told the reporter she did not want to tell her students to go to college.  Yes, the middle aged woman was a teacher!  She continued by saying she couldn't bare to see the faces of her students when they found out she lied about their futures.  The teacher stated if she told them going to college would lead to a successful career and a great life, she would be lying.  When in reality, she further spoke, a person graduates from college with tremendous debt, working a underpaying job, and struggling to balance family time vs. work to pay bills time.         I had to sit back and...

Values in Media

Where are the values in media?  I turn on the television to see plumped up, surgically enhanced women with less than mediocre brain cells; men attempting to discover their sexuality and sexual orientation in the most public, degrading and humiliating way; children being abducted, raped, beaten or caught in the cross-fire of their family's ignorance; destruction of landmarks, monuments and historical artistic creativity; all blasted world-wide, nation wide and throughout each country.  We are all watching our world change for the worst right before our eyes.  How?  Through our media.  Ratings have become more important than values.  The more drama, nudity , sex and violence shown to the world means more profit for the television industry.  Who cares what the children of our future learn from television?  I wonder...  Will they learn how to find the perfect surgeon to make them look like w...
