The Money Goal

Wondering why we have homelessness, drug addictions, sexual abuse, incarcerations, hunger and violence in our world today?  Look around!  It's on the news, social media outlets, on every corner, played on the radio, in our schools, on our televisions and everywhere we turn.  The youth today have role models from the strip clubs, gangs, the music industries and prisons.  Very few seek positive role models from educators, doctors, lawyers, researchers, etc..  Why is this?  The negative is being glorified more than any other entity.  People are fighting EVERYWHERE: from the government to the corner store.  The hatred and disrespect amongst cultures, races, genders, government officials and religions has become outrageous.  We are fighting each other instead of helping one another.  It's like the wild, wild west in our world.  The manipulation, jealousy, lies and disregard for human decency has taken...

Depression and Social Media

Depression and Social Media                        Selena Gomez has taken a break from social media due to a mental breakdown.   People are assuming she had the breakdown because her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber became engaged to Hailey Baldwin.   A small number of people have considered the fact she recently had a kidney transplant and is battling Lupus.   She has also admitted to the media she has battled with depression.   The girl is only 27 or 28 years old!   Plus she is a famous singer among other things.   Miss Gomez has a lot more to deal with other than thinking about Mr. Bieber getting engaged.   Yes, it may be on her mind but more than likely, one of the last things.                Depression is real!   More than 18 million people suffer from depression, according to Hope for Depression Re...

Social Media and Our Own Values

The television, computer, cell phone and advertising media has changed the belief system for some Americans.  There are schools across the world teaching computer technology (with social media examples) over religion, cultural differences and unity among all.  Additionally, people are more exposed to the harshness of reality and mimicking what they see.  How do people see more violence, hatred, body shaming, drug abuse/overdoses, money glorification and sexual immorality?  Mostly through the media!      The stories about Serena Williams and Les Moonves (CBS former CEO and Executive) have taken  over the social media scene this past weekend.  They have crossed all different topics such as race relations, sports, history, women's rights, violence, sexuality, embarrassment, LOVE, RESPECT, honesty, fear, acknowledgment, trust, lies, misconduct, power abuse, working class, sexual aggression, family, mother/daug...

Values in Media

Where are the values in media?  I turn on the television to see plumped up, surgically enhanced women with less than mediocre brain cells; men attempting to discover their sexuality and sexual orientation in the most public, degrading and humiliating way; children being abducted, raped, beaten or caught in the cross-fire of their family's ignorance; destruction of landmarks, monuments and historical artistic creativity; all blasted world-wide, nation wide and throughout each country.  We are all watching our world change for the worst right before our eyes.  How?  Through our media.  Ratings have become more important than values.  The more drama, nudity , sex and violence shown to the world means more profit for the television industry.  Who cares what the children of our future learn from television?  I wonder...  Will they learn how to find the perfect surgeon to make them look like w...
