Kindergarten 101: Honesty and Respect Using Words

Yes that's right!  We learned honesty and respect when walking into the classroom on the first day of kindergarten.  Maybe some are too old, forgetful or refuse to believe we all learned how to be respectful to others (without touching) with our words.  The words used today in songs, social media posts and toward one another have been a cause for division.  This type of division used to be between races only.  Now, it's within the races also.  Why?  More importantly, who is creating this division within each race?  No matter who has started it or how they began it, WE NEED TO ADDRESS IT AND CHANGE IT!  How?  Lets start with RESPECT!  Once we truly have respect for ourselves, we can have it for another.  Easier said than done, huh?  Yet, positive reinforcements, goals, spirituality and healthy living are great starts!  The main objective is consistency.  Self-respect will reflect in how you treat others when you open your mouth to use your words.

The next major factor when using words is HONESTY!  Tell the truth!  By default, some things maybe false because we (as humans) can be forgetful.  The consequences when it comes to being honest is also learned very young as well.  The difference is being dishonest by choice, to hide something selfishly or to be deceitful.  We should CHOOSE to be honest with our words, because it is the right thing to do...as taught in kindergarten.  Realistically, we all work on honesty and respect using our words, daily.  The point of trying is what matters.  The world does not need racism, hatred  or disrespectfulness.  Why not?  The kindergarteners are watching the adults.

Social Media and Our Own Values

The television, computer, cell phone and advertising media has changed the belief system for some Americans.  There are schools across the world teaching computer technology (with social media examples) over religion, cultural differences and unity among all.  Additionally, people are more exposed to the harshness of reality and mimicking what they see.  How do people see more violence, hatred, body shaming, drug abuse/overdoses, money glorification and sexual immorality?  Mostly through the media!      The stories about Serena Williams and Les Moonves (CBS former CEO and Executive) have taken  over the social media scene this past weekend.  They have crossed all different topics such as race relations, sports, history, women's rights, violence, sexuality, embarrassment, LOVE, RESPECT, honesty, fear, acknowledgment, trust, lies, misconduct, power abuse, working class, sexual aggression, family, mother/daug...

Our Youth's Education is at Risk!

There was a woman (race not important for this) on television the other day.  She was being interviewed by a female reporter.  Forgive me, I can't recall the station nor the show because the content grabbed my attention instantly!  The middle-aged woman was crying to the reporter.  The woman told the reporter she did not want to tell her students to go to college.  Yes, the middle aged woman was a teacher!  She continued by saying she couldn't bare to see the faces of her students when they found out she lied about their futures.  The teacher stated if she told them going to college would lead to a successful career and a great life, she would be lying.  When in reality, she further spoke, a person graduates from college with tremendous debt, working a underpaying job, and struggling to balance family time vs. work to pay bills time.         I had to sit back and...

Deteriorating City

Deteriorating City                         The silent manipulation unfolding among our creation Violence rising, adultery exposed, children shot as they sleep, teens die waiting for a ride to be educated, elderly beaten while just trying to enjoy independence. We watch as surrounding buildings crumble, monuments are distorted with graffiti; gangbangers rob the poor and needy. Shameful actions covered by joyful expressions of so-called power. Mimicking what has been seen, displayed, shown, mocked by small snippets of television faction or media competition for action. Information to some, ignored by none.                Lives taken for granted by no one age group                specifically.         ...
