Babies having Babies: How Can We Help?

There are so many teenagers and young adults having babies.  Whether they are having them by accident, because they think they're in love or they think it's going to keep their significant other.  The young ladies may not know how to care for the child due to no one showing them how to raise one.  Once the child is born and they are released from the hospital, they are own their own.  More recently the number of women trying or seeking the available programs has declined.  This is because the tedious forms, documentation requirements, participation requirements and long processing periods discourage them from trying.  Young ladies with babies and young children may not put them in school for fear of not being able to keep them clean, up to date with activities or feed them.  The system is said to be designed to help them.  Yet, I see young girls homeless with babies.  Also, I see children not in school because the mother doesn't know the first thing about registering them in a school.  How does that mother make a living for herself and her family completing all required classes or roller coaster rides the system puts her through and still pick her child up from school on time?  The bus is a reliable source of transportation, but this lower to poor class can barely survive consistently, let a lone starting off.

The opposite of the above is what we see on social media and television.  Where all is easily fixed with a magic wand, loaner from a parent, borrowing from a bank, cashing in some jewelry, making an appearance on a show, releasing a new video/song or some other unattainable thing by the average person.  The single mother on these outlets only let the glory of motherhood show.  Most of the shows have the mothers seem as if they never have a care in the world with their babies and they never had to struggle financially.  Even if that were the truth, how do they make the lifestyles they are living a reachable goal for the young mothers in the above paragraph?  Direction, help guidance and yes, possibly walking them hand by hand through the entire beginning process of raising and seeking assistance for babies.  Once again, our children are our future and we need to give them all the opportunities available to them.

Social Media and Our Own Values

The television, computer, cell phone and advertising media has changed the belief system for some Americans.  There are schools across the world teaching computer technology (with social media examples) over religion, cultural differences and unity among all.  Additionally, people are more exposed to the harshness of reality and mimicking what they see.  How do people see more violence, hatred, body shaming, drug abuse/overdoses, money glorification and sexual immorality?  Mostly through the media!      The stories about Serena Williams and Les Moonves (CBS former CEO and Executive) have taken  over the social media scene this past weekend.  They have crossed all different topics such as race relations, sports, history, women's rights, violence, sexuality, embarrassment, LOVE, RESPECT, honesty, fear, acknowledgment, trust, lies, misconduct, power abuse, working class, sexual aggression, family, mother/daug...

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?                                                 The world today is different compared to just a year ago.   Everyone seems to be touchy and sensitive about everything.   Some people are marching just to be marching with their friends, not knowing the true cause. If a celebrity is doing it, he/she is more likely, going to have a following.   The fame, notoriety and wealth status has led to the election of our most recent president.   Realistically, hos moral character was not a factor relating to his election!   The more fame he gained from his political fight came from the misconception about his many business ventures.   Highlighting the word misconception because majority of pe...

Our Youth's Education is at Risk!

There was a woman (race not important for this) on television the other day.  She was being interviewed by a female reporter.  Forgive me, I can't recall the station nor the show because the content grabbed my attention instantly!  The middle-aged woman was crying to the reporter.  The woman told the reporter she did not want to tell her students to go to college.  Yes, the middle aged woman was a teacher!  She continued by saying she couldn't bare to see the faces of her students when they found out she lied about their futures.  The teacher stated if she told them going to college would lead to a successful career and a great life, she would be lying.  When in reality, she further spoke, a person graduates from college with tremendous debt, working a underpaying job, and struggling to balance family time vs. work to pay bills time.         I had to sit back and...
