The World's Mirror??

The world has changed so much. I’m beginning to wonder how to explain it to my nieces, nephew, former clients, God children and other children 18 and under.  There’s crime on majority of the television shows; movies are mostly about sex, drugs, money and murder; people walk around with a chip on their shoulder like the world owes them something and customer service sucks!  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not everywhere, just majority of the places our youth are.  Even schools have become more dangerous because teachers are sleeping with students, students are selling drugs in school, more fights are occurring, more students are being bullied more severely and weapons are being carried for protection.  Not to mention, we have a President whose actual moral character is questioned daily because of what comes out of his mouth.  No one is perfect!  Should a human being be chastised, demeaned or disrespected because of their beliefs, skin color, ethnic background, mental disability or physical disability?  It’s a simple question most people answer: Yes to it with their comments in the media.

Well, having been diagnosed at age 33 with peripheral neuropathy, lumbar disc disease, neurosarcoidosis, panic attacks, anxiety, TMJ, seizures, osteoporosis, a total hysterectomy (with no children and desiring 6), losing my mother 3 weeks before college graduation and being raped/molested more times than a child under 12 years old should ever be; I ask myself: why the individuals who are rapists, murderers, molesters, thieves and evildoers can’t look in the mirror to see the fear and anger they reciprocate all over the world?  Or those lazy parents, who would rather do drugs, smoke or manipulate people around them instead of nurturing the children they created?  Or the people stealing repeatedly not caring if they are the reason for the price inflation or their favorite store closing?  Or the rich, who pay their workers pennies, vote governmentally to delete the middle/working class, yet wonder why their worker can’t afford to maintain a household, eat daily, cloth themselves and take public transportation to work?  Do you have faith?  Do you believe in a Higher Being? God?

Something is wrong.  The struggles for a person on minimum wage, disabled or retired are real!  Despite working hard and paying your dues, you are mocked by society and sometimes even the people you work for.  Choosing between medication to prevent seizures, pain (non-narcotic), anxiety, help with walking or buying food and paying rent in a safe neighborhood is a reality for many Americans now and in the future if the economy and its people keep going the way we are.  Apartment, medication, doctor visit co-pay, food, transportation and energy prices are all increasing and have broken the middle/working class, retired, and the disabled.  Will this continue?  Can you live off of half of your current income? Or $1100 a month without help from family and/or friends?

Food for Thought

Social Media and Our Own Values

The television, computer, cell phone and advertising media has changed the belief system for some Americans.  There are schools across the world teaching computer technology (with social media examples) over religion, cultural differences and unity among all.  Additionally, people are more exposed to the harshness of reality and mimicking what they see.  How do people see more violence, hatred, body shaming, drug abuse/overdoses, money glorification and sexual immorality?  Mostly through the media!      The stories about Serena Williams and Les Moonves (CBS former CEO and Executive) have taken  over the social media scene this past weekend.  They have crossed all different topics such as race relations, sports, history, women's rights, violence, sexuality, embarrassment, LOVE, RESPECT, honesty, fear, acknowledgment, trust, lies, misconduct, power abuse, working class, sexual aggression, family, mother/daug...

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?                                                 The world today is different compared to just a year ago.   Everyone seems to be touchy and sensitive about everything.   Some people are marching just to be marching with their friends, not knowing the true cause. If a celebrity is doing it, he/she is more likely, going to have a following.   The fame, notoriety and wealth status has led to the election of our most recent president.   Realistically, hos moral character was not a factor relating to his election!   The more fame he gained from his political fight came from the misconception about his many business ventures.   Highlighting the word misconception because majority of pe...

Our Youth's Education is at Risk!

There was a woman (race not important for this) on television the other day.  She was being interviewed by a female reporter.  Forgive me, I can't recall the station nor the show because the content grabbed my attention instantly!  The middle-aged woman was crying to the reporter.  The woman told the reporter she did not want to tell her students to go to college.  Yes, the middle aged woman was a teacher!  She continued by saying she couldn't bare to see the faces of her students when they found out she lied about their futures.  The teacher stated if she told them going to college would lead to a successful career and a great life, she would be lying.  When in reality, she further spoke, a person graduates from college with tremendous debt, working a underpaying job, and struggling to balance family time vs. work to pay bills time.         I had to sit back and...
