The Pandemic and Our Reaction

The World is in a pandemic and people are acting like there is nothing going on.  I have seen people at the grocery stores and major warehouses with nothing on their faces or hands.  If they do not care for others in the world, they should at least care for themselves.  This virus has spread all over the world with no know cause and can be transmitted through the air.  Doesn't that statement alone make you want to cover up your own face?  It very well should.  Another thing people are not minding is the 6feet order.  Please stay your distance from the next person.  This is not a joke.  There is not one generation that's doing it more than another.  Older people as well as teens as well as parents letting their babies go without a mask and they have one on.  I have seen people get cursed out, pushed and stared at by everyone in earshot.  The people with no masks are breathing out in the air and we, as strangers passing by, have no idea what they have or who they have just been around.  In a crowded place or a ten persons at a time place, this terrifies me.  What are we doing to our fellow people, our family members or our friends, because we do not want to wear a protective mask outside.

I've heard things like, "it isn't cool" or "it doesn't match my clothes" or "I can't breathe".  It's all irrelevant to the fact that you could be inhaling your death.  The virus has not gone away.  It has been with us for over a month now and there is no cure as of this date.  What must happen for people to wear a mask or protective gear over their faces when they go outside or in a public place?  We are hearing daily about hundreds of people dying from this virus. Period.  This virus is killing people and one way to help prevent a person from getting it is to wear a mask.  This is vital.  Once the shutdown is over and we try to get back to some form of normalcy, where will those people be that did not have masks on during the pandemic?  I think of that question and wonder of they really know the risks they are taking by doing that.

The citizens of each state need to listen to their Governor during this time.  Also listen to the appointed doctors that have been given their position for a reason.  They are hard at work daily on finding a cure or vaccine for this virus.  (If you wonder why I refer to it as "virus" instead of it's full name, please read the previous blog ) What they tell their citizens to do will be because they do not want their state to be overcome by this virus.  They sincerely want their state to get back on track.  Even though we see many politicians, news stations, social media posts, etc that depict all types of presumptions.  We all should have one goal and that is to rid this world of the virus to a point where it's not killing people as rapidly as this one.  Let's stay in unless we have to go out for essential things, wash your hands after come in from outside or touching anything, sanitize items from markets and stores, stay 6 feet away from people at all times, wear protective gloves or hand sanitizer if available, no hook ups with others and PLEASE put a mask over your face stay safe!

Social Media and Our Own Values

The television, computer, cell phone and advertising media has changed the belief system for some Americans.  There are schools across the world teaching computer technology (with social media examples) over religion, cultural differences and unity among all.  Additionally, people are more exposed to the harshness of reality and mimicking what they see.  How do people see more violence, hatred, body shaming, drug abuse/overdoses, money glorification and sexual immorality?  Mostly through the media!      The stories about Serena Williams and Les Moonves (CBS former CEO and Executive) have taken  over the social media scene this past weekend.  They have crossed all different topics such as race relations, sports, history, women's rights, violence, sexuality, embarrassment, LOVE, RESPECT, honesty, fear, acknowledgment, trust, lies, misconduct, power abuse, working class, sexual aggression, family, mother/daug...

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?

Are politics being run by fame, notoriety and wealth?                                                 The world today is different compared to just a year ago.   Everyone seems to be touchy and sensitive about everything.   Some people are marching just to be marching with their friends, not knowing the true cause. If a celebrity is doing it, he/she is more likely, going to have a following.   The fame, notoriety and wealth status has led to the election of our most recent president.   Realistically, hos moral character was not a factor relating to his election!   The more fame he gained from his political fight came from the misconception about his many business ventures.   Highlighting the word misconception because majority of pe...

Our Youth's Education is at Risk!

There was a woman (race not important for this) on television the other day.  She was being interviewed by a female reporter.  Forgive me, I can't recall the station nor the show because the content grabbed my attention instantly!  The middle-aged woman was crying to the reporter.  The woman told the reporter she did not want to tell her students to go to college.  Yes, the middle aged woman was a teacher!  She continued by saying she couldn't bare to see the faces of her students when they found out she lied about their futures.  The teacher stated if she told them going to college would lead to a successful career and a great life, she would be lying.  When in reality, she further spoke, a person graduates from college with tremendous debt, working a underpaying job, and struggling to balance family time vs. work to pay bills time.         I had to sit back and...
